  15. The 1st of a series of half day seminars is to take place at Sun Microsystems
  16. City office.

  18. Many developers are faced with the problem of delivering their applications for
  19. both Microsoft platforms and UNIX workstations. Developers have had to resort
  20. to supporting dual developments or starting developments from scratch using
  21. proprietary 3rd party API toolkits, both strategies have been far from ideal.

  23. This seminar will show you how you can take your existing Microsoft Windows
  24. applications written in C or C++ and re-host them to run as native on
  25. UNIX Motif workstations - using Microsoft's standard development tools and
  26. MAINSoft Studio tools, which include:
  27.  
  28.   MAINWin XDE
  29.       o Microsoft Win32 and Win16 APIs ported to UNIX.
  30.       o MFC 4.0.
  31.       o Windows 95 Common Control APIs.
  32.       o Windows Help Engine.
  33.  
  34.   MAINSoft Visual SourceSafe
  35.       o Microsoft's Visual SourceSafe ported to unix.
  36.       o Can work independently of ofther MAINSoft products.
  37.  
  38.   MAINSoft Test.
  39.       o Microsoft test enables test scripts to be moved and run
  40.        unchanged with programs built with MAINWin XDE.
  41.  
  42. MAINWin XDE produces applications which run with at the full speed of the
  43. workstation and with native look and feel.
  44.  
  45. The seminar is aimed at developers and their managers. Familiarity with C or
  46. C++ concepts are a prerequisite.
